Globos gigantes, carrozas, bailarines y músicos en el desfile de Acción de Gracias en Nueva York
La sexta avenida fue el escenario para el desfile anual de Macy’s, que celebra Acción de Gracias y la llegada de la Navidad.

Nueva York, EUA. Este día se realizó el desfile anual que organizan los almacenes Macy’s, un multitudinario evento que se realiza en las calles de Nueva York y que en, el marco del Día de Acción de Gracias o Thanksgiving, congrega a miles de asistentes.
El recorrido de más de 4 kilómetros inicia en el cruce de las calles West 77th y Central Park con rumbo hacia Columbus Circle, para continuar por Central Park South y Sixth Avenue, hasta la West 34th Street.

El punto final del recorrido es frente a Macy’s Herald Square.
Si bien miles de asistentes siguen paso a paso este recorrido por las calles de Nueva York, millones lo contemplan por señales de televisión y por streaming en redes sociales.
Esta tradición se ha realizado desde hace 99 años, pues en 1924 la tienda departamental Macy’s organizó un desfile con carrozas y bandas para celebrar la expansión de su tienda en Herald Square, de acuerdo con el libro “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade: A History”, de Jeffrey B. Miller.
Desde entonces, este desfile ha ido creciendo y se ha popularizado entre los neoyorquinos y sus visitantes.
